UPDATE - 25/03/2020: We are now closed.

Due to the current situation regarding Coronavirus (Covid-19), Beers Timber & Building Supplies Ltd will be closing its branches with effect from 5pm today for both collections and deliveries.

We will aim to deliver existing booked deliveries that are essential as soon as is practical, and contact customers accordingly to advise.

In order to supply the products that are vital to essential services, we will be running reduced deliveries from selected branches only from tomorrow. We will only be doing this where we are able to do so under social distancing measures as imposed by PHE.

Our website is now closed for purchases and click and collect.

As soon as the situation changes, we will re-open branches and associated services accordingly.

We would once again like to thank all our staff for their significant efforts during these very difficult times, and thank our customers for their patience and understanding.

UPDATE - 24/03/2020:

Dear Customers,

Thank you for bearing with us today in what has been a continuation of one of the most challenging times in all our lives. Merchants offer a vital link in the chain that key repairs and maintenance are going to rely on throughout this pandemic. As such it has been hard to try to balance the needs of the country, our customers and the safety of everyone we work with.

From tomorrow Beers and MBS depots (with the exception of MBS Wythenshawe which closed due to self isolation) will all be open for deliveries and call or click and collect. No customers will be allowed on our sites other than to collect and pay for pre-picked orders. We believe this is the only way to ensure our staff can work within social distancing recommendations.

Our delivery boards are exceptionally busy so please aim for larger orders less frequently. Also please be aware that our lead times will be longer than usual. The majority of our suppliers are still delivering into us and stock is good so there is no need to panic buy.

So long as we are working to Government recommendations and feel happy with the safety of our staff and customers we will try to keep things ticking over.

Regards,

Beers Timber & Building Supplies Ltd

23/03/2020

As is expected, Beers are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our customers and staff. We are keeping a close eye on government guidance and updates in an effort to stem disruption.

Please note: In response to the Covid-19 situation and in order to allow us to handle the increased demand on our delivery services, we have temporarily turned off next day and 2-3 day deliveries and adjusted our delivery terms. We will endeavour to deliver all orders within 5 working days, but orders may be subject to a delay.

We currently have internal guidelines in place to keep us open, business as usual.

We understand there will be uncertainty and concerns about calling into a branch so should you feel hesitant, be that for your own health or others, we encourage you to utilise our delivery services by calling a branch or ordering online.

For those who are still happy to call in, we please ask that you respect our staff's personal space and do not be offended if you are asked to keep your distance. Please respect government guidelines, wash your hands regularly and self-isolate if advised to do so.

We will work to the best of our ability to keep our stores a safe environment but it will only continue to operate as such so long as we work together and minimise risk to staff and customers.

Our measures to reduce virus spread are as follows:

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough.
  • Self-isolation where necessary.

There are other internal measures in place for our staff that utilise working from home procedures if necessary.

We would like to publicly thank our staff for their ongoing professionalism during these tough times.
