Garden Makeover Days are Back

Are you thinking of giving your garden a facelift and have you been watching the garden makeovers on TV and wondered if it really is as easy as they make it seem? Then the ideal place to start is by visiting Beers Timber & Building Supplies.
Whether you want a shady retreat from the stresses of the day as the sun goes down or an outdoor play area for the kids or even your own sophisticated barbecue and party area then a quality wooden deck or patio from Beers fits the bill a treat.
During March, April and May Beers is organising "Garden Makeover Days" to provide superb demonstrations of the techniques required to install your own garden deck or create a patio feature. Beers has years of experience and is happy to provide advice on your own designs or help you to create an individual deck or patio... Also, now on display at Beers is the exciting new range of contemporary accessories to bring new life into a tired deck together with all you need to spring clean and protect a deck.
So, come along and meet the experts at one of the Garden Makeover Days which will take place between 10a.m. and 3.30pm at our branches in:
Boundary Street, Liverpool on Saturday 27th March 2010
Bridle Road, Eastham, Wirral on Good Friday 2nd April 2010 and Saturday 1st May
Lockside, Thelwall, Warrington on Saturday 17th April
Decking Clinics will take place at 11a.m., 12.30p.m. and 2p.m. and to make your visit even more enjoyable, refreshments will be available.

Beat the Big Freeze

With the on set of some of the worst winter weather conditions for many years, the UK as a whole has been hit hard.
Icy conditions on the roads, and under-foot generally, have been treaturous.
Worst still, supplies of rock salt have been scarse.
At Beers we have been able to source a white salt/grit mix, which is available at all four depots.
We are receiving loads on a regular basis, but please call your local depot for availability as stock is moving fast.

Merry Christmas From Beers

Beers Timber & Building Supplies will be closed for business over the Christmas Period. We finish on Wednesday 23rd December 2009, at 5:00pm
and re-open on Monday 4th January 2010, at 7:30am.
Beers would like to thank all of those who have supported us during the last 12 months, and wish you all A Very Merry Christmas, and a Prorperous 2010.

Beers Sponsor Eco Initiative

Neston High School in Raby Park Road, Neston ,Cheshire recently opened a new outdoor classroom sponsored by Beers Timber & Building Supplies. The seating for the classroom is made from railway sleepers purchased from the local Beers depot in Heswall.
To mark the event pupils from local primary schools took part in an Eco-picnic before taking part in a round of activities ranging from building bird boxes with the Cheshire Rangers, worm charming, eco-art and visiting birds of prey courtesy of Rockcliffe Raptors.

The Wilson Trophy - West Kirby

Beers Timber & Building Supplies and sister company, MBS, were two of the proud sponsors of The Wilson Trophy, held at West Kirby Sailing Club, over the Bank Holiday weekend - 1st to 3rd May.
The British Open Team Racing Championship, for which the Wilson Trophy is awarded, is regarded as 'the jewel in the crown of international dinghy team racing'. The West Kirby event attracted 42 teams from far and wide, including USA, Canada, The Czech Republic and closer to home Ireland & UK. In an incredible weekend of racing, this year's eventual winners were none other than hosts - West Kirby Hawks ! Our congratulations go to them.
Beers & MBS were pleased to be involved in such a successful high profile event & look forward to participating in future events.

 Beers Timber & Building Supplies is delighted to inform customers that they have acquired the builders' merchant business of Bromborough Paint & Building Supplies located in Bridle Road, Eastham CH62 8AS.
The new four acre sitein Eastham will not only stock all our normal ranges, but will continue the excellent plumbing supplies business for which this depot is renowned.
We look forward to welcoming customers, old and new, to our new depot.

COSHH Data now Online

 In a new development on the website, targetted at increasing its factual content and use as an information resource for its users,
we have now made available over 80 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for products under the COSHH
(Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regs.
These MSDS can be downloaded, printed, or simply viewed online, for your information, and include products such as
cement, plaster & boards, paints, silicones, adhesives, and much more.
Take a look, and let us know if you think we've missed something.
Any items put forward for inclusion in our library will be carefully considered.

Tall Ships Festival 2008...

 Anybody who visited the Wellington Dock this weekend for the Tall Ships Festival would of seen
(and almost certainly heard), The Brazilian Drum Band, who entertained the crowds over the weekend
with their unmistakable brand of Salsa Beats.
For those who couldn't make it, and missed out the picture (left) shows them, watched by crowds
of amazed on-lookers practising outside the front gates of Beers' Liverpool Depot.
