3. What is a shopping cart? [ top ]
You can think of the shopping cart as a 'virtual shopping basket'.
At any time that you can see a shopping cart link in the top right-hand corner of the screen, you will be able to view details of the products that you are currently building up in your cart. Clicking any of the links in the cart window in the corner of the screen will take you to a page where you can view, edit and place an order for your items.
|
While viewing a products page, click the Add button next to the product that you wish to add to your cart.
If you wish to order a multiple quantity of a product, this can be done by changing the "1" to the quantity that you require before clicking the Add button. |
|
Similarly, timber products that require you to define lengths and quantities for purchase can be added to the cart by clicking the Lengths button. |
Using the shopping cart [ top ]
Illustrated below is an example of how your shopping cart might look after adding a product(s) to it:
Your shopping cart displays all relevant information about each product you have added:
- Description: The description of the product
- Price inc. VAT: The price of the product, including VAT
- Unit: The unit of measurement for this product (e.g. each, m², m³, etc)
- Quantity: The quantity of the product that has been added to the cart
- Total inc. VAT: The total for this product (Quantity * Price inc. VAT)
(Note: Trade/terms customers will be able to view additional fields in their shopping cart, such as Price excluding VAT and Total excluding VAT.)

To change the quantity of a product in the shopping cart, edit the number in the Quantity field and click the Recalculate button. The quantity for this product will be amended as required.
